Female Leaders from Turkmenistan Celebrate Global Youth Service Day in Turkmenistan

TAG quarter finalists (TAG QF) continued to take on leadership roles in their communities by providing mini projects during Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) from April 20 to April 26. Approximately 3000 people took part and benefited in the 70 activities dedicated to GYSD in Turkmenistan. 72 TAG QF guided their peers in conducting service-related activities in their hometowns. In conjunction with millions of children and youth in more than 115 countries, the young women from Turkmenistan demonstrated their concern for global issues by engaging community members in service activities. The TAG participants carry on the tradition of celebrating GYSD event in Turkmenistan. Tech Age Girls' collaborative efforts represent their leadership skills impending sustainable change in communities throughout Turkmenistan.

Children gained an experience in highway regulations

Children 6-7 ages together with TAG QF gathered to get to know traffic rules. This event, organized by Maysa Nuryeva aimed to raising awareness about traffic rules and safety on the roads for kids. She came up with this project idea because of a problem in that community with the intersection. There were some accidents with kids victims. It was important for kids to learn how to cross the road where there weren’t traffic lights and any policeman. The TAG QF prepared materials for her classes and conducted one interactive lesson in class and one practice outside in the yard and at the crossroad. 32 kids together with their two teachers and two parents from Ashgabat learned and refreshed their knowledge in traffic rules

Young leaders promote healthy life-style

Children from local Balkanabat kindergarten were surprised and happy by TAG’s provided training on “Healthiness”. The Event devoted to GYSD and conducted by Gulruh and Aygul was presented with the elements of quiz. As the main subject was Health, the organizers conducted training on health care, nutrition, etc. with the participants. TAGs collected booklets about health from sanitary-and-epidemiologic institution and distributed among participants. After training participants got an honor to see a play organized by senior students, as well as to watch tall tale «Roly-Poly». The participants were very excited and interested in that event when one of the young leaders was dressed as a doctor and hold the health training.

Bringing up new Turkmen generation

It was sophisticated but high organized event which lasted whole day during which the TAG quarter finalists Anna Kostryakova and Jahan Balyshova from Lebap region motivated children play different games and draw pictures. The organizers made a schedule and followed it through the entire event. Besides, all the participants decorated the room in their kindergarten for GYSD event with pictures; children have created their emblems devoted to GYSD event. GYSD organizers have explained to children about GYSD event and showed them mini-concert, told rhymes in English as well as arranged several contests using ball among children devoted to their self-development.

Children got to know about GYSD in the world and promised to celebrate it every year as well as distribute this event among their peers. Also, kids learned how to create a common picture together with other children. Participants and organizers of GYSD event enjoyed the whole day devoted to GYSD and wished the kids to be friendly and helpful with each other.

Hi Olga!
Nice to see you here. I would like to ask you, could you tell me, did you refresh your TAG Blog? If not, you have an opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills by writing comments on Blog "Secret of success". All the TAG Alumni share their experience on that Blog, so I suggest you to do the same.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Say hello to Kseniya!

Good luck TAGs!

TAG quarterfinalists of Lebap did many projects in different communities: at schools, kindergartens, centers. They involved their friends, classmates and relatives in volunteering too. They helped veterans of Great Patriotic War and disabled people, led the classes for little children and talked about harmful habits with teens, took part in the action to make our environment clean. Great job was done during the GYSD week. They had a good opportunity to develop their leadership skills.
Yesterday TAG quarterfinalists presented their Power point presentations on their GYSD projects in our IATP.
Great job, dear girls! Go ahead!
